Introduction to Xuankong Temple in the West of Beijing: It is located in the Baigu Stream two miles east of the Grand Canyon. It was built in the first year of Qi tomorrow. The temple is located on a steep cliff surrounded by green cypresses. The temple is dedicated to Yuanjun. The Holy Mother, the Dragon King, Zhang Xian, and Maitreya Buddha are the unity of Buddhism and Taoism. Every year on the third day of March, the incense is most prosperous, and faithful men and women gather here to offer incense and worship, praying for blessings and good luck. There is a sweet spring in the temple seeping out from the rocks all year round. It is said that drinking this water regularly can ward off disasters, avoid evil and bring good luck.
