Introduction to Tangwang Lake: Most rivers in China flow from west to east, but the Tangwang River in front of the Hujia Mountain Scenic Area flows from east to west. Ancient legends say that nearby (referring to it from a distance) is the residence of the sub-sage Mencius: Mencius Temple and Meng Mansion. The water flowing westward shows reverence for the saints with a kind of pilgrimage mentality. Therefore, the locals call it: "water flowing backwards in front of the saint's door".
