Introduction to Abu’s Old House: In the ancient city of Shangri-La, Yunnan, there is a Tibetan-Chinese residential building with a history of more than 370 years—Abu’s Old House. On the stone roadside of Dukezong Ancient City, Abu's old house has earthen walls and wooden structures. It is old and simple but tall and unique. As soon as I entered the house, I was greeted by a tall old Tibetan man with bronze complexion. He is the owner of this ancient house, Abu, whose Chinese name is Song Bailiang. He is 75 years old this year. The Abu family was once a prominent family on the Tea Horse Road. The underground floor of the old house is a woodshed and livestock barn, the above-ground floor is the owner's residence, and the third floor is a warehouse. The whole house is surrounded by earth walls, and an atrium is formed in front of the house. The residence on the second floor is the essence of the whole building. There is a cloister in the front, and the main room, guest room, Buddhist hall, and firepit on both sides. The priorities are clear and the layout is complete. The trusses in the old house are exquisitely ornately carved, and the red paint is half-preserved, giving it an antique feel.
