Introduction to Baishui Terrace: Baishui Terrace is located at the foothills of Haba Snow Mountain, 103 kilometers away from Shangri-La County and 2,380 meters above sea level. It is a natural wonder formed by calcium carbonate dissolved in spring water. The spring water containing calcium bicarbonate slowly flows down, and the carbonate gradually precipitates. The Naxi language calls Baishuitai "Shibuzhi", which means the flower that grows gradually. It is also like the silver ornaments of Naxi girls, stacked into countless silver rings. The silver light scatters in the morning and evening, giving people the impression of throwing gold and cutting jade. of freshness. On the left side, a spring platform is shaped like a crescent moon, with clear springs overflowing. According to legend, it is a place where fairies dress up. There is a stone dome on the lower left side of the spring platform, which is as white as jade and shaped like a pregnant woman. It is a place where local people worship the fertility god. Baishuitai is not only a place with beautiful scenery, but also the center of the birthplace of the Dongba religion of the Naxi people, where religious activities and ethnic programs are held.
According to legend, Dongba Shiluo, the ancestor of Dongba, practiced Taoism in Baishuitai and was therefore regarded as Dongba Taoist Temple. Every year on the eighth day of the second lunar month, the local Tibetan, Naxi, Yi, Bai, Lisu and other ethnic groups go to Baishui Terrace to perform sacrificial activities and entertain the gods with songs and dances. The ethnic customs are very rich.
Traffic information: Baishuitai is 100 kilometers away from the county seat. Shangri-La has a bus to Sanba Township on Sunday morning and afternoon, and the fare is 16 yuan. Tourists can also take a taxi, which costs about 200 yuan/day for a round trip.
