Introduction to Wufeng Mountain: Wufeng Mountain is a sacred mountain in the hearts of Tibetans. Legend has it that there are five phoenixes in the mountain. During times of peace and prosperity, people will see the phoenixes dancing in the sky. The ecology and vegetation on Wufeng Mountain are well protected. Spruce, fir, Yunnan pine, etc. are tall and straight, and the magpie is graceful. There are hundreds of grasses under the bushes, and the delicate white birches are growing wildly. No one has ever touched a single plant or tree on the mountain.
Every year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, plateau collectors select their best riders to compete here, making it the busiest and most beautiful day in Wufeng Mountain. Flowers bloomed on the grass. Boys and girls in costumes walked leisurely among the flowers. Colorful tents covered the valleys. Old men with white hair performed Guozhuang dance around the bonfire. The sound of singing and dancing continued for several nights. The entire Duanyang Horse Racing Festival lasted for three days, and Zhongdian Grassland was completely involved in a huge ocean of joy. The county town was packed with people, and everyone gathered under the shady trees of Wufeng Mountain and among the magpie bushes to enjoy the wonderful performances of the riders on the surrounding natural stands. There are huge crowds of people all around the stadium, and the cheerful people seem like thousands of phoenixes playing and dancing here. Today's Dragon Boat Festival is no longer just a horse racing competition, but has become a cultural and art festival on the Shangri-La grassland. During the horse racing festival, various cultural and economic activities such as cultural performances, folk song contests, national costume exhibitions, and material exchange meetings are held at the same time. The May Jockey Club is playing an irreplaceable role in Diqing's opening to the outside world. The singing and dancing activities lasted all night and were very lively.
