The protected area covers an area of 3,125 square kilometers, has an altitude of 3,266 meters, and a lake area of 660 square kilometers. The terrain of the reserve is flat and surrounded by mountains on three sides. In winter and spring, the mountains are covered with snow. It is an ideal habitat for the black-necked crane, a rare bird under national first-level protection, and has the largest grassland in the county - Yila Grassland. The climate in the Napa Sea Nature Reserve is humid, and the grass grows faster than in similar areas. In May every year, the grasslands sprout buds, and the Napa Sea is already covered with green grass. At the beginning of June, all kinds of wild flowers are blooming, and the vast grassland is full of beautiful qionghuayao grass. Herds of cattle and sheep rise and fall with the sea of grass, as if they are rising and falling in the sea. The vast grassland. To the west, the three snow-capped mountains of Shika, Yeka and Hardinyala stand tall and tall. Snowy mountains, grasslands, cattle and sheep make up the scenery of Saibei in the southwest. In August, the grass in Napa Sea is still fresh and tender, groups of horses and cattle are chewing the young leaves, and wild boars run past you from time to time. Ride a horse and take some photos in front of the wetland, or feel the strong local atmosphere in the drizzle.
When autumn and winter come, the grassland is golden, the distant mountains are like black, and the white snow peaks are reflected in the lakes. In this season, black-necked cranes, yellow ducks, and geese gather here, playing and roaming in the grass and on the water. The vast and ethereal grassland is poetic and picturesque. The Tibetan people love birds and never harm them, especially the black-necked crane, which has been protected by the Tibetan people for thousands of years. .
On the northwest mountain of Napahai, there are the ruins of the ancient Zhongdian temple, Gunqin Temple. The ancient trees are towering and lush, surrounded by broken buildings and rubble. The temple was built in the late Ming Dynasty and destroyed in the early Qing Dynasty. According to historical records, there is a three-foot-six-foot-tall Qianba Buddha statue in the temple. Xu Xiake, a tourist in the Ming Dynasty, once visited it because of its fame. However, he was blocked by Lijiang's Mu family chieftain and regretted that he could not do so.
