Introduction to Lamu Drum: Because of the arrival of distinguished guests, the village held a traditional Lamu Drum ceremony. During the "Gerui Month" in the Wa calendar (equivalent to December in the Gregorian calendar), the Wa people used to hold village-wide wooden drum activities. On the first day of the festival, the leader and "Moba" (priest) led people by night to the tall red-haired tree selected in advance. After performing sacrifices (sacrifice, exorcism, chanting incantations and prayers), "Moba" waved After a few blows with the ax, others chopped down the tree overnight, picked up three stones and placed them on the stump, which was meant to buy tree string for the tree ghost. Then cut the trunk according to the required size of the wooden drum, cut out the drum ears, and tie the rattan on it. Early the next morning, all men in the village, young and old, dressed in costumes, went up the mountain to play wooden drums. Moba held up a branch with his right hand, led the singing of "Lamugu", and directed everyone to coordinate their movements. People sprinkle water and wine on the ground where the wooden drum passes. The man playing the wooden drum sings and dances while playing, and other people cheer or give wine or food. Pull the wooden drum blank outside the village gate and park it for two or three days. "Moba" killed the chicken for sacrifice, and then took the big pair of stems to the field next to the wooden drum house and handed them over to the carpenter for making. On this day, men and women play the wooden drum together and squeeze together. It is said to be a good time to fall in love. While pulling, singing, dancing, and making fun, it takes a long time. When the wooden drum was ready and satisfied, people carried it into the wooden drum room and reveled again. People danced rough wooden drums in time with the drumbeats.
