Introduction to the original forest: In the Zixi Mountain Nature Reserve, there are semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forests and Yunnan pine forests with Quercus d’unnanensis, Quercus d’unnanensis, and Greengrass as the main trees, with a coverage rate of 91%. It is an important water source forest area in Chuxiong City. According to the survey, there are 202 species of higher plants in the reserve, including 49 families and 76 species of medicinal plants; rare plants include 28 century-old Yunnan camellias, as well as sporadic Yunnan Tibetan magnolia, Cephalotaxus, fragrant fruit trees, and ginkgo trees. There are many kinds of osmanthus, osmanthus, magnolia, camphor, wood ginger, Yunnan smile and rhododendron. It is also rich in rare edible fungi such as matsutake and chicken fir. There are at least 107 species of animals living in the vast jungle. Among them, the black-necked pheasant and green peacock are listed as first-level protected animals by the state, and the white pheasants, red pandas, pythons, etc. are listed as second-level protected animals.
