Introduction to the large and small temples: Dongshan Jisheng large and small temples are actually the collective name of Yuanjue Temple and Xuanzhu Temple. Yuanjue Temple is located in Lingying Mountain southeast of Weishan County. It was originally built by the mother of Zuo Tusi in the Ming Dynasty. After three expansions in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has become a large-scale Buddhist temple today. Xuanzhu Temple is located on Xuanzhu Mountain, two miles away from Yuanjue Temple. Founded in the early Tang Dynasty, its predecessor was the Meng clan ancestral hall of the Nanzhao royal family. In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Taoism was introduced to Yunnan and became a place of cultivation for Taoists, becoming the first Taoist temple in Weishan. Xuanzhu Temple is composed of sixteen large and small halls, including Yuhuang Pavilion, Sanguan Hall, Luzu Hall, Guansheng Hall, Caishen Hall, etc.
