Introduction to the Thousand-Year-Old Ginkgo: This is an ancient and legendary sacred tree, which has been confirmed by experts to be the Thousand-Year-Old Ginkgo. The ginkgo tree is monoecious and bears several white fruits every year. According to the recollections of local villagers, at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution 50 years ago, all the Bodhisattva statues in Tianxin Temple were abolished, all the monks were driven away, and the temple was turned into a village primary school. When it was turned into a village primary school, it was struck by lightning and burned to death. It came back to life about 10 years later. After a lapse of five years, it was once again caught on fire by villagers who lit cigarettes when they went up the tree to dig out bird eggs. Because the fire was so fierce, it was basically destroyed by the roots when fire trucks came to put out the fire. In June 2012, Tianxin Temple began to be restored and rebuilt. The ancient trees sprouted again that year and became even more lush the next year.
