Introduction to the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway: The Yunnan-Vietnam Railway was called the Yunnan Railway during the French colonial period (Vietnam was a vassal state of the Qing Dynasty). It runs from Haiphong, Vietnam to Kunming, Yunnan, with a total length of 854 kilometers. It is divided into the Vietnam section (i.e. the Yue section) and Yunnan section (i.e. Yunnan section). The railway was built by the French government in October 1903 and officially opened to traffic in January 1910. It spans the three major water systems of the Jinsha River, the Pearl River and the Red River. The current Yunnan-Vietnam Railway refers to its Yunnan section. In 1958, the Ministry of Railways issued a telegram: the Yunnan section was renamed the Kunhe River Railway. Although the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway was built by France to plunder Yunnan's mineral resources, it also promoted the development of Yunnan and Kunming.
