Scenic spot introduction:

Longmen is the throat of the Yellow River. The east and west mountains are sandwiched between the river and cliffs, standing opposite each other in the shape of a gate. Legend has it that in the third month of spring, a carp swims upstream and leaps onto the gate, transforming into a dragon, hence the name Dragon Gate. According to legend, it was dug by Dayu when he was controlling floods, and is also called Yumen. Because it is located at an important transportation crossing between the Qin and Jin Dynasties, it is also called "Yumen Gate". The scenic spot is located in the Yellow River Gorge northwest of Hejin City, Shanxi Province and north of Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province. It is the southern outlet of the Yellow River Shanxi-Shaanxi Gorge. The ancients praised "Three surging waves at Longmen, and a thunder on flat ground". The Tang Dynasty poem "Roaring thousands of miles into Longmen" vividly depicts the turbulent and spectacular scene of the three surging waves at Longmen.
