Pucheng Qing Dynasty Examination Yuan Museum was the place where imperial examinations were held during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is also the most complete Qing Dynasty Examination Yuan building complex in Shaanxi Province and even in China. The Pucheng Examination Institute was founded during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. In the 32nd year of Guangxu's reign (1906), the imperial examination was abolished and the Examination Institute was renamed the No. 1 Higher Elementary School in Pucheng County, with a normal training center attached and specialized in accepting graduates from the elementary school. , the period of study is 4 years. In October 1949, the Pucheng County People's Government established "Pucheng County Donghuaiyuan Primary School" in the Kao Yuan; on July 15, 1983, the Kao Yuan was announced by the County People's Government as one of the first batch of county-level key cultural relics protection units; in 1992 On April 20, 2018, it was announced as the third batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units by the Provincial People's Government. On September 18, 1998, the examination institute was put under the management of the cultural relics department, and the "Pucheng County Qing Dynasty Examination Institute Cultural Relics Management Office" was established; in 2007, it was renamed "Pucheng County Qing Dynasty Examination Institute Museum".
After large-scale overall renovation, today’s Qing Dynasty Kao Yuan Museum has basically restored its original style. Every carving and inscription reflects the historical culture and strong folk color of that year, allowing viewers to clearly and comprehensively understand the profoundness of ancient scientific research and architectural art.

Pucheng Qing Dynasty Examination Museum is located at No. 17, Donghuaiyuan Lane, Chengguan Town, close to General Yang Hucheng Memorial Hall and Yang Hucheng's former residence. The examination hall covers an area of ​​6,200 square meters and faces south. The existing buildings along the central axis from south to north include the main hall, the second door, the corridor, the east and west buildings, the official hall (meeting hall), the show hall, the bathroom courtyard, the east and west buildings. Wing room, inner room, ear room, etc. You can also see hollow woodcuts, paintings, reliefs, wood carvings and other decorations in many details, which are very exquisite. There are also many plaques left in the house, and some precious imperial examination cultural and historical materials and related objects are on display.
