Zijin Nanmu Temple Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

Nanmu Temple is a Buddhist temple with a long history of more than 800 years. The ancient temple is located in Hongtian Village, Waxi Town, 42 kilometers south of Zijin County. It is more than 800 meters above sea level and surrounded by high mountains and beautiful natural ecology. The ancient temple has constant incense all year round. It is a good place to climb mountains and worship Buddha.

According to the "Zijin Yearbook", Nanmu Temple (known as Temple Zushi in ancient times) is said to have been built in the fifth year of Chunxi in the Song Dynasty (1178). There is a stone sculpture of Guanyin Bodhisattva enshrined in the cave on the top of the mountain. The pillars on both sides of the altar are hung with wooden lacquer and gold from the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. There are two couplets: "The golden statue surrounds the golden dragon, and the solemn throne; the stone bell harmonizes with the stone drum, awakening the moral integrity of the people. The loving clouds of the eagle ridge hang down on the ancestors of the temple, and the nectar of Gion moistens the pepper countryside." There is also a stone tablet on the side with the inscription: "It was rebuilt at noon on the third day of the fifth lunar month in the 13th year of Guangxu's reign (1887). The Nanmu Temple was donated by local residents and was managed by Master Zeng Dian." Nanmu Temple Mountain is a beautiful and magical natural original ecological forest. It is surrounded by more than 5,000 acres of ancient trees, evergreen broad-leaved forests and climbing plants. It has rugged rocks and strange scenery. It has dense forests, intertwined ancient vines, and strange rocks like bells and drums. The strange cave is 1 kilometer long, with strange springs gurgling out from the cracks in the rocks, two dragon springs of holy water flowing down, and clouds and mist surrounding the mountain surrounded by fairy air, just like Penglai Wonderland.
