Zhangzhou Volcanic Island Natural Ecological Tourism Area is the only coastal volcanic geological and landform scenic tourist area in China. It is also the largest, best-preserved and most distinctive volcanic geopark among the existing national geoparks in China.

Zhangzhou Volcanic Island Natural Ecological Tourism Area is located on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait and along the seaside of Qianting Town, Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. The planned land and sea area is about 100 square kilometers. The area includes three major scenic spots: Xiangshan, Linjin Island, and Nanding Island. There are three bathing beaches including Shawan, Jiangkou Bay and Houcai Bay, which are called "one mountain, two islands and three bays". The scenic area preserves the traces of central volcanic eruption structures and later weathered sea erosion geological landforms, mainly including columnar basalt and ancient volcanic craters. There are four geological relics including volcanic vent group and basalt watermelon peel structure. Among them, Nanding Island volcanic wonders with 1.4 million columnar jointed basalts ranks among the best in the world of volcanic islands; while Qisha Bay, Jiangkou Bay and Houcai Bay are continuous The nearly 10 kilometers of clean beach is known as "Oriental Hawaii".
