Introduction to the Royal Book Stele: In the first year of Yuan Zhizhi (AD 1321), Prince Tutemur was exiled to Hainan Island and visited Nanshan on the way. In 1323 AD, he was called back to Beijing, revisited Nanshan, and personally wrote the words "Nanshan Temple" to the monks. In 1328 AD, Tuthemul ascended the throne and was named Emperor Wenzong. Later, the "Royal Book Stele" written and engraved by Guizhou (Guixian) state officials was erected under the north wall of the Stone Buddha Cave and preserved.
