Kang Youwei's former residence was originally called "Tianyou Garden" and was built in 1899. It was originally the official residence of important officials of the German Governor-General in Qingdao. The former residence is a German-style three-story brick and wood structure building. Kang Youwei moved in in 1923. Kang Youwei was the leader of the "1898 Reform" movement in modern Chinese history. After the failure of the Reform Movement of 1898, he lived in exile overseas for a long time and was able to return to China after the Revolution of 1818. When he came to Qingdao for the second time in 1917, the municipal authorities arranged for him to stay here. He was very satisfied with the place and bought this house as his residence in 1923, where he stayed until his death in March 1927. Kang Youwei's Former Residence Memorial Hall is located at No. 5 Fushan Branch Road, beside Huiquan Bay, Shinan District, Qingdao.Attractions distribution:
