Beijing Longtan Lake District is divided into three lakes: East, Middle and West, covering an area of ​​more than 680 acres. The park is filled with rippling blue waves and green trees. It is a waterscape garden larger than Shichahai, Houhai and Jishuitan combined.

Longtan Lake was originally a kiln pit left after the outer city was built in the Ming Dynasty. The west part is the Longxugou sewage drainage site. In 1952, it was renovated into three artificial lakes: east, middle and west. Liang Sicheng named it Longtan Lake.
Longtan Lake Park covers an area of ​​more than 680 acres, which is larger than Shichahai, Houhai, and Jishuitan combined. Various flowers and trees are planted in the park. The scenery is mainly waterscape, highlighting the characteristics of Longhetan.
