Introduction to the stele pavilion: On the south road leading from the Tianwang Hall to the Main Hall, there is a small stele pavilion on the east and west sides, and an ancient stele is erected in each pavilion. To the west is the "Ode to and Preface to the Iron Maitreya Statue of Shibi Temple" built in the 29th year of Kaiyuan of the Tang Dynasty (741). The font is strong and beautiful. It was written by Bohai Gao, a female calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty and the wife of Fang Gao who joined the army in Taiyuan. The stele records the exchanges between Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty and Xuanzhong Temple. This is a historical record of the grand occasion of Xuanzhong Temple when Dao Chuo was appointed abbot. This stele was re-engraved in the fourth year of Jin Taihe (1204) based on the Tang stele. To the east is the "Tang Shibi Zen Temple Ganlu Yitan Monument" built by Tang Yuanheba (813), which was re-engraved in the third year of Zhishun in the Yuan Dynasty (1332).
