Introduction to Shude Yuan: Located in the northeast corner of the inner city, it was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The courtyard is two side-by-side courtyards running east-west. The main courtyard is surrounded by a main room, a wing room and a reverse seat. The main building is a three-story building in the form of "three bright and five dark", and the wing rooms and reverse seats are both two-story. The four corners of the courtyard are closed or open patios. This architectural form is extremely unique and has some similarities with Yunnan's "four-in-five-patio" style dwellings.
