The four words "National Soul" on the forehead were personally written by Yan Xishan, the commander of the Second War Zone during the Anti-Japanese War. The title, on the left and right sides are the names of the fallen soldiers, and on the back is the inscription. This monument was erected in 1942 for the more than 2,300 soldiers of the 73rd Division who died in the Anti-Japanese War from 1937 to 1942.
