Jining Taibai Tower is also commonly known as Li Bai Restaurant or Banished Immortal Tower. According to "Shandong Tongzhi", Taibai Tower was originally called Helan's Restaurant, which was not Li Bai's former residence because Li Bai often had banquets here in order to express his respect for Li Bai. Out of reverence, Shen Guang, a native of Wuxing, inscribed a plaque "Taibai Restaurant" for him and wrote "Li Hanlin Restaurant". Later, when it was moved from the east gate of ancient Ren City to the city wall in the early Ming Dynasty, the word "wine" was removed, and it has been passed down to this day. Although today's Taibai Tower is no longer a place where you can drink, there are still many pubs and wineries around the building.
