Qufu Zhou Gong Temple is one of the three largest Zhou Gong temples in the country. It is a temple dedicated to the great thinker and statesman Zhou Gong in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. It is located on the ruins of the old city of Lu State and is the ancestral temple of Lu State. The temple was first built in the first year of Dazhong Xiangfu, Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty. It underwent further construction in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties to reach its current scale. During the Cultural Revolution, the temple was severely damaged.
