The Dabaotai Western Han Tomb Museum is a large-scale thematic site museum built on the site of the tomb of Liu Jian, King of Qing in Guangyang of the Western Han Dynasty. The Dabaotai Han Tomb is located in Dabaotai Village, Huaxiang, Fengtai District. It was discovered in early June 1974 and began excavation in August. The couple were buried together in a cave, covering an area of about 18,000 square meters. They are the two most luxurious Han tombs with the largest scale of archaeological excavation in Beijing. The museum display consists of four parts: the restored display of Dabaotai Tomb No. 1, the display of chariots and horses buried in Dabaotai Tomb No. 1, the restored display of Han chariots in Dabaotai Tomb No. 1, and the display of funerary objects unearthed from Dabaotai Tomb No. 1 and No. 2.Attractions distribution:
Dabaotai was the seat of Yinxiang County in the Western Han Dynasty, and was called Longhuo City in the Tang Dynasty. Dou Jiande, leader of the peasant uprising army, and Luo Yi, the general manager of Youzhou, fought fiercely here. In the Jin Dynasty, it was the summer residence of Zhang Zong and Concubine Li. It was first called Baotai and later Dabaotai. The tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in Dabaotai were excavated in 1974 and 1975. The two tombs are juxtaposed from east to west. The owner of tomb No. 1 on the east side may be Liu Jian, the king of Guangyang, who died in the fourth year of the Yuan Dynasty (45 BC). The owner of tomb No. 2 on the west side The owner was his wife. Although the two tombs were stolen in the early years, more than 400 cultural relics including pottery, copper, iron, jade, agate, lacquerware, silk fabrics, etc. were unearthed.
