Introduction to Deng Xiaoping's former residence: Deng Xiaoping arrived in Liao County on January 18, 1938, and served successively as political commissar of the 129th Division, secretary of the Taihang Military and Political Committee, and secretary of the Taihang Branch of the Northern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. In October 1943, the Eighth Route Army and The 129th Division merged, and Deng Xiaoping served as acting secretary of the Northern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, becoming the core leadership of the party, government, and military in the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan base area. Comrade Deng Xiaoping and his wife Zhuo Lin lived in this small house during their stay in Matian, and Deng Pufang was born here.
