Introduction to the statue of Chen Yonggui: In 1947, Chen Yonggui organized a mutual aid group of nine households, which were later called the "Heroes Group" and the "Old and Young Group". The two groups started production competitions, and production developed rapidly. From 1975 to 1980, Chen Yonggui served as Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. After the reform and opening up, he resigned as Vice Premier of the State Council and later worked as a consultant at a farm in the eastern suburbs of Beijing.
