Introduction to Aai Grottoes: The grottoes were built in the 8th century AD during the middle of the Tang Dynasty, more than 1,300 years ago. They face north and south, with the cave door 37° eastward. It is 4.6 meters long from north to south and 3.5 meters wide, with an area of 16 square meters. In the grotto, except for the muddy bits and pieces of the central hall-style mural on the main wall, the "Sixteen Views" on the left and right side of the Buddha statue murals are well preserved. In the entire mural banner, there are 23 inscriptions in Chinese calligraphy and Qiuci script, which write in detail the name of a certain Buddha's sponsor, such as Shen Lingguang, Li Guanghui, Kou Junnan, Kou Tingjun, and Central Plains Han surnames such as Peng, Liang, and Zhao. It fully reflects the early integration of Han culture and Qiuci culture.
