Introduction to Xunzi: Xun Kuang, that is, Xunzi, also known as Qing. He was born around 313 BC and died in 238 BC. A native of Zhao State (in today's Anze area) during the Warring States Period. He was a master of the Confucian school in the late Warring States period and an outstanding materialist thinker and educator in ancient my country. Li Si and Han Fei were both his students. Xun Kuang visited many places in his life. He once studied in the State of Qi, held academic exchanges and discussions with scholars from various schools at the Academy of Jixia (now north of Linzi, Shandong), and served as the wine sacrificer (chief of the ceremony) in the Academy for the second time. Later he visited Qin and Zhao. In his later years, he served as the magistrate of Lanling (now Lanling Town, Cangshan County, Shandong Province) in Chu State, and wrote books and theories until his death.
