Kuaiji Mountain, formerly known as Maoshan Mountain, is also known as Mu Mountain. It is one of the famous mountain towns consecrated and worshiped by emperors of all dynasties in China. Kuaiji Mountain has a profound cultural heritage: Dayu, the ancient flood control hero who passed through the house three times without entering, had four major events in his life: conferring immortality, getting married, meritorious service, and being buried in Kuaiji Mountain. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Kuaiji Mountain had always been the military hinterland fortress of the Yue Kingdom. Shortly after Qin Shihuang unified China, he traveled thousands of miles to Kuaiji Mountain to offer sacrifices to Yu the Great. He established an emperor and a hegemon over this mountain, thus possessing both the "spirit of the emperor" and the Kuaiji Mountain pays homage to the "Shangba Qi"; after the Han Dynasty, it became a Buddhist and Taoist resort. It is said that Ge Xuan, the ancestor of Ge Hong, made elixir here and became an immortal. Yangming Cave in the mountain is the 11th Taoist cave, and Xianglu Peak is a Buddhist resort. It is still very popular today; in the Tang Dynasty, it became the gateway to the Tang Poetry Road in Eastern Zhejiang and one of the important birthplaces of Chinese landscape poetry. Literati and scholars of the past dynasties left many excellent works of poetry and prose; the great Confucian Wang Yangming (Shouren) of the Ming Dynasty built a house here to live in seclusion. , studied the mind and founded the "Yangming School".
