Introduction to Tiangongyuan: Tiangongyuan was built in the Tang Dynasty and was abandoned and rebuilt during the dynasty. The existing building was rebuilt in the third year of Tianshun (AD 1459) by Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty. It is to commemorate the astronomical calendar master and Taoist Feng Shui of the Tang Dynasty. It was built by masters Yuan Tiangang and Li Chunfeng. According to legend, this courtyard was a good place chosen by Yuan and Li to "insert a gold needle into a copper coin". It was once a place for folk astronomy research and pilgrimage, and was also used as a folk Taoist temple and a Buddhist temple.
