Introduction to the Ksitigarbha Hall: Located near the Nine Dragon Monument, it was built in the Ming Dynasty. There is a couplet in front of the door that reads, "Only when all sentient beings are saved can we realize Bodhi. I will never become a Buddha until hell is empty." Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was conceived as a prince of Silla Kingdom (today’s Korean Peninsula). His surname was Jin and his given name was Qiao Jue. He came to China during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and walked to Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui to practice asceticism. This couplet expresses his determination to practice. .
