Introduction to the Aquatic Center: The Aquatics Center is equivalent to a "porch" of the Olympic Park. During the Olympic Games, more than two-thirds of the spectators will enter the Olympic Park through the giant bridge spanning the venue. This is the center during the 2012 London Olympics. Competition venues for swimming, Paralympic swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and modern pentathlon aquatic events.
The aquatic center was designed by the internationally renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Its iconic huge wave-shaped roof is 160 meters long and 80 meters wide; the aquatic center has a 50-meter competition swimming pool , a 25-meter competition diving pool, a 50-meter warm-up pool and a "waterless" warm-up area dedicated to divers; most of the spectators watching the game will be seated in the temporary two-wing stands.
After the Olympics, the aquatic center’s services will not be limited to elite athletes, but also to local communities, clubs, schools and other people. The temporary wings attached to it will be removed after the games, and the open space in front of the building will be equipped with Brand new public square and café.
