Introduction to the Imperial Palace Museum: The Imperial Palace Museum is the Yongli Forbidden City and consists of the gate tower, Wenhua Hall, side halls and turrets. The imperial palace was built during the war years of the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, and was destroyed during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. After being rebuilt with government funding, it was officially opened to tourists in June 2006.
