Pagoda introduction: The core part of Bayon Temple is a group of 16 connected pagodas. Each tower has a four-sided Buddha statue, symbolizing the prosperity of the Khmer Kingdom at that time. These huge Buddha statues have typical Khmer faces, with a slight smile, tranquility and mystery. This is the famous "Khmer Smile".
