Introduction to Xu Guo Shifang: Also known as University Scholars Square, commonly known as the Eight-legged Archway, it is praised as the Oriental Arch of Triumph. The stone arch stands in the downtown center of the county. It was built in the twelfth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1584). The archway is surrounded by eight pillars and is in the shape of a Chinese character. The building stone is hard blue tea garden stone. The stone arch is painted with imitation wood structures. With elegant carvings, elegant patterns and skillful knife skills, it is the most outstanding representative of Huizhou stone archways and is a national key cultural relic protection unit.
