Introduction to Rubens's Former Residence: Rubens's Former Residence (Rubens Huis) was built in 1610. It is the studio and residence of Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), a representative painter of Baroque art. After seven years of restoration from 1939 to 1946, it has now become the Municipal Art Museum, and some of Rubens' paintings are on display in the former residence.
