Introduction to Laohugou: This small ditch is called Laohugou, so named because three South China tigers once appeared here to drink water. In 1998, the South China tiger, one of the top ten critically endangered animals in the world, reappeared in Baishanzu, adding a lot of mystery to Baishanzu. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, South China tigers lived in large numbers in the Baishanzu area. They often entered villages in search of food and took away poultry and beasts. Villagers hunted many tigers to eliminate pests. After the 1960s and 1970s, due to ecological environment damage and other reasons, no trace of the South China tiger has been found. Due to the increasing efforts in ecological protection in Qingyuan County in recent years, through afforestation, mountain closures, and returning farmland to forests, the ecological environment has gradually improved, creating a good living environment for South China tigers. It can be said that the reappearance of the South China tiger is a reward for the forestry people's years of hard work.
