Introduction to the Giant Buddha: The Tiantan Giant Buddha was designed and produced by the Ministry of Aerospace Science and Technology of China. It has a three-story base and an exhibition hall. There is a large clock controlled by a computer, with Buddha statues and scriptures engraved on it. It is struck every seven minutes for a total of 108 times to "relieve 108 kinds of worries." The memorial hall on the third floor is dedicated to the Buddha's true body relics, which are said to be more than 84,000 colorful crystals left over from the Samadhi fire incineration of Lord Sakyamuni after his nirvana 2,500 years ago. They are the result of the Buddha's perfect practice and merit. At present, the only countries in the world that collect Buddha relics are China and Sri Lanka.
