Baoyuan mature vinegar was used as a royal tribute in the Ming and Qing dynasties, writing a glorious chapter for Shanxi vinegar industry. As history progressed, during the Republic of China, Baoyuan Old Vinegar Fang closed down due to years of famine and war in the Jinzhong area.
