Introduction to the old site of Shengping Street: Shengping Street is located east from Sanpo Temple at Waisha Bridge to the entrance of Jinyu Lane. It is about 4 meters wide and 200 meters long. In the first year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1821), immigrants began to build shops on Shengping Street from west to east. In the fifth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1855), the Pearl Market Department moved to Shengping Street and was responsible for exercising public security, taxation and other duties. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), Lianzhou Naval Station, Longmen Xietai, Changguan, and Lijin Factory from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China were also located on Shengping Street. In 1927, the road was expanded, and the streets from west to east, Daxi Street, Shengping Street, Dongtai Street, Donghua Street, and Jielongqiao were unified into Zhuhai Road.
