Introduction to the Reclining Buddha Temple: Also known as Shifang Puchue Temple, it is located at the foothills of Shouan Mountain in the Beijing Botanical Garden. It was founded in the early years of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty and is a key cultural relic protection unit in Beijing. The main buildings in the temple include the Glazed Archway, Shanmen Hall, Tianwang Hall, Third Buddha Hall and Reclining Buddha Hall. The reclining Buddha in the hall is a bronze statue of Sakyamuni reclining in the first year of Zhizhi of the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1321). It is 5.3 meters long and weighs 54 tons. Around the bronze Buddha, there are twelve statues, representing the twelve perfect enlightenments. This group of statues shows the scene of Sakyamuni giving instructions to his disciples before his death.
