Introduction to the inscriptions on the big bell: Both the inside and outside of the big bell have inscriptions in graceful and elegant fonts. It is a representative work of Guange style calligraphy art in the early Ming Dynasty. The inscription on the outside of the bell is "Sutra of the Names of Buddhas, Tathagata and Bodhisattvas", and the first 20 volumes of this sutra are cast on the bell. There is the Amitabha Sutra and the Twelve Causes and Conditions Mantra. Inside is the "Miaofa Lotus Flower Sutra", the bell lip is the "Vajra Prajna Sutra", and the Pulao (bell button) is engraved with 17 kinds of sutras and mantras such as the "Shrangama Mantra". There are more than 230,000 words in all scriptures and mantras. The bell texts are all in regular Chinese script, with neat fonts, simple yet powerful characters, evenly distributed throughout the bell body.
