Introduction to Longquan Temple: Beijing Longquan Temple is located at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain in Xishan Mountain. It is the first officially opened Buddhist temple with the Three Treasures in Haidian District, Beijing since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Longquan Ancient Temple was built in the early Yingli years of the Liao Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. It is named after the Longquan Pool in the south of the temple. Longquan Temple faces west to east. This orientation layout is a typical feature of Liao and Jin temples. Behind the mountain gate in the temple is the largest and oldest single-hole stone bridge in Beijing. There are two ancient ginkgo trees in the temple, both of which bear witness to the thousand-year history of Longquan Temple. Most of the original temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. With the opening of Fenghuangling Scenic Area in 1995, the local government and believers began to repair the temple and gradually restored it to its original appearance.
