Introduction to the Jesuit Monument: The Jesuit Monument is located in the northeast corner of the Diamond Tower. The tombstones displayed here were originally located in the Jesuit Cemetery of Zhengfu Temple in Haidian District, Beijing. Later, due to the demolition of Zhengfu Temple, it was moved to the Beijing Stone Carving Art Museum for display and collection. The Jesuits are one of the Catholic religious orders. The Jesuits came to China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. While preaching in China, they introduced modern Western scientific knowledge to China and brought Chinese culture back to Europe. A total of 36 tombstones of Jesus missionaries are displayed in this area, among which the tombstones of well-known missionaries to China such as Jiang Youren, Zhang Cheng, and Bai Jin are also displayed here.
