Introduction to the Qianchao District: The so-called Qianchao, or Waichao, is located in the south of the Forbidden City. The palaces here are majestic and solemn, and the courtyards are magnificent and spacious. They include the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City, the Taihe Gate of the Palace Gate, and Taihe, Zhonghe, and Baohe. The three main halls form the central axis, with the Tiren Pavilion and the Hongyi Pavilion on both sides, and the Wenhua Hall and the Wuying Hall on the east and west wings. It is a solemn occasion where the emperor holds major ceremonies and ministers meet the emperor.
