Introduction to the Shouhuang Pavilion: There were buildings here during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. In the Ming Dynasty, the Shouhuang Pavilion was built on the basis of the original building. In the late Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, the emperor once watched his courtiers shooting arrows in the Shouhuang Pavilion. During the Qing Dynasty, the original building was damaged. In 1956, the current building was built on the original site. "The Northern Strategy of the Ming Dynasty" records: "The Shouhuang Pavilion in Wansui Mountain is also the Red Pavilion in Meishan. The pavilion was newly built and was specially built by the late emperor for Yue Nei Cao."
