Introduction to the warehouses: During the Ming Dynasty, the warehouses in Nanxincang were structured as storage units, with every three rooms being one warehouse, and later changed to one room with five rooms. There is a plaque hanging on the door, indicating the number of a certain guard. The plaque in Nanxincang no longer exists. Each building is approximately 23.8 meters wide, 17.6 meters deep, and 7.5 meters high, with eaves at the front and rear. Since it is an important grain storage area in the capital, Nanxincang is built according to military standards like the city wall in appearance, and is entirely made of city bricks to ensure its sturdiness and durability. The warehouse is also built of bricks, with five-flowered gables, and the walls are 1.3 to 1.5 meters thick. The rack structure basically adopts the traditional Chinese wooden frame structure of a single log.
