Introduction to the Aphorism Pavilion: The Aphorism Pavilion is located outside the Beitan Gate. This pavilion was built in 1915 with a donation from Zhu Qiqian’s friend and then President Counselor Yong Tao. It is the only Western-style pavilion in the whole park. The whole pavilion is made of white stone, with a diameter of 6.6 meters and a height of about 8 meters. The outside of the pavilion is surrounded by railings. The insides of the eight stone pillars in the pavilion were originally engraved with a proverb from the ancestors, which mostly means curing diseases and saving people, so it is also called Yaoyan Pavilion. Or Medicine Stone Pavilion. The writing on the pavilion was all erased in 1955 because it was not suitable for the political environment at that time.
