Introduction to Tears Island: Tears Island is located in the Svisloch River outside the old town of Troits in Minsk. This is a group of buildings built to commemorate more than 800 Belarusian officers and soldiers who were killed and missing during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. A group of buildings, with a monument to the fallen soldiers standing in the center of the island. During the construction, the mothers of the fallen officers and soldiers named the island "Island of Sorrow and Tears", which was later shortened to "Island of Tears".
