Introduction to the east wing: The east wing was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is three rooms wide and one room deep. The layout is in a "concave" shape, commonly known as "locked head house". This house was where Du Shoutian lived during his childhood and adolescence. After leaving home for Beijing, he would always stay in this house whenever he returned to his hometown.
